I had been on a nice vacation after a long time. Headed down south, to Amboli, Tarkarli, Ratnagiri, Ganpatipule and Devgad.
Konkan now rates second on my places to visit again list - specially the secluded beach i had been to. (GPS track here)
As usual, let the camera do the talking...
The Lino, taking a breather in a field. She's quite a poser, as you can see...
Out of one web, bang into another...
Brings a little bit of color to the otherwise drab place ;)
It was a dark night. Then HE said, let there be light...
Pretty sunset, prettier car :)
Happy feet :)
Lovely lovely beach, with crystal clear water...
Spot the crab...
I LOVES it
This is where i missed my SLR :(

I had been to Bhopal last week, and had a great time there. Was a very good break from the routine...
Here are a few memories...
The following pics are of Van Vihar - a Zoo, with open enclosures for animals. You are separated with deep moats, and barbed fences. But its so much better than cages...
The little guy had loads of fun...the weather was nice, there was no school to attend, and everyone was pampering him. :)
On second thoughts, the animals were outside the enclosures. There was this Bihari group, which could not spot the hyena, since it was sleeping. And to wake him up, they started throwing stones - not just small ones, but big ones which would have hurt and possibly killed too. Morons!
Another shocker was when watching the panther. There was this lady pointing the panther to her child, and saying " Dekkho beta, doggy...". I mean, if she had said kitty, that would have been still ok, but Doggy!!!??? :O

Trust me on this. DC is in this car. Went over the entire track before firing the engine.
The Indian Navy too was having a little fun. They added to the fun factor with their low altitude fly by's.
And, this is the real thing. It lasted for half a millisecond, and I gave up trying to click pics. The sight and sound of the F1 car at this range, is something to be experienced. WOW.
And this is what he left behind. Fresh tyre marks, and indelible memories.
Whatta experience! Thank you DC. Thank you Red Bull. Yes. You put me on Cloud 9.I had been to Nirmal Lifestyle today to have a look see at the Red Bull Formula 1 car on display. I expected to see a cordoned off area, heavy crowds, and the car a mile away.
Well, it was a pleasant surprise to see light crowds, and was able to see the car from close range. Not for the first time, the SLR gave me special access to normally cordoned off areas :D
AND, the icing on the cake was that they were starting and revving the car at regular intervals. Im at a loss of words to describe the sound/music.
Its not a wail, its not a whine. It rumbles when idling, and screams like a banshee when revved. GOD. I still am getting goosebumps when replaying the sound in my mind. Imagine the effect in an huge enclosed area. AWESOME. AWESOME. AWESOME.
The only sound that comes close to it is that of a SU30 at close range.
Here are a few pics...
Oh, and I almost laid a hex on the DJ who turned up his volume every time the pit crew fired up the engine. MORON.
