And the city is going to the dogs...
I was recently the victim of an intentional hit and run incident. I was driving to Hyderabad with family, and hence took an early start of 05.30AM, to give the traffic a miss. We had just reached Turbhe, when overtaking an Audi Q7, from the left, he abruptly cut me off, even when there was a lot of space for both. Brushed my right mirror at that time. I thought that it was unintentional, and he might not have seen me. Gave him the benefit of doubt...after all, technically, it was his right of way, and I was on the left side. After that, he took off, and I was following his wake, since he was clearing the track for me...
Reached Nerul, where he got stuck in traffic, and I overtook him by default – this was not a close brush. There was a truck between me and him.. and he was at standstill, while I was moving at @30kmph. After the jam cleared, I was watching the mirrors, waiting for him to just blast past me and disappear in the horizon, since there was no traffic ahead.
I was in the first lane, and saw his headlights grow larger in the mirror...and saw him come alongside. What he did next was something I could not have imagined. He just swung this huge thing into my car, made contact, and took off... jeez, that was one shitty feeling of not being able to do anything about it. I could have caught up with him, but then what? For someone who plays road-rash with an Audi Q7, would not stop at anything, and I was with family. I really wish I could have done something... anything.
Just for the record, it was an white Audi Q7, with MH 02 number plate. I did not get the chance to get the entire number since I did not close in, post the incident. If you come across an Audi Q7 with a red smear on its right hand side, please pick up a stone and smash the windscreen for me. I am totally stirred, and have developed a new loathing for SUV's. Specially the expensive sort.
